Fine Food & Fine Art

Libby Edwards and the Tasmanian Department of Economic Development teamed forces to hold an exhibition of Luke Wagner's paintings and to highlight the fantastic local food and wine produced by the Apple Isle. The Tasmanian Department of Economic Development approached Stix with a challenge - all food and wine had to be of Tasmanian origin.
Dignitaries and collectors alike enjoyed a selection of tailored canapés including such local fare as Tasmanian abalone, scallops and Huon Valley mushrooms whilst sipping on local cool climate wines from Stefano Lubiana and Domaine A.
Hunter Winemakers Dinner

Stix recently catered at the Commonwealth Bank's Hunter Winemakers Dinner. The dinner was held in the beautiful heritage listed banking chamber at 48 Martin Place, last year listed by the Sydney Morning Herald as Sydney's most unique venue.
Australia's most famous wine personality Len Evans A.O O.B.E, was special guest and MC for the evening and two of Australia's top winemakers were in attendance, Iain Riggs from Brokenwood and Phil Ryan from Mt Pleasant. Wines served included back vintages of the iconic Lovedale Semillon from Mt Pleasant and Graveyard Shiraz from Brokenwood. The bank was able to utilise our full range of Riedel Vinum glassware to show case the amazing line up of wines and Stix created a menu specifically for the dinner.
Happy Birthday

One of our corporate clients recently approached us to organise all arrangements for his 50th Birthday celebration. It was not just any old party but a celebration themed to the roaring 20's.
Held at the Whart 8 in Darling Harbour, the night included vintage cars, professional dancers, tarot card readers and guests danced the night away to one of Sydney's premier bands, The Enormous Horns.
Escoffier 5oth Anniversary

Another 50th.Haute Cuisine and fine dining as we know them today, trace their origins to the work of Auguste Escoffier, The Chef of Kings and The King of Chefs. The aim of Escoffier Society is to bring together members of the culinary profession and loyal friends who appreciate good food and good wines.
The Australian Escoffier Society commenced in 1956 and consists of 12 members who meet on the second Monday of every month sharing fine wines, fellowship and a passion for challenging food. Chef David Allison is a member of the exclusive society. Past members have included Ken Bignill, Leo Schofield, Leo Christie and a host of others.
This year was Escoffier's 50th anniversary and celebrations were held at Jackson's landing, bringing both past and present members together.
Chandon Supper Club

Chandon Supper Club was once again the hottest ticket on the social calendar - a unique charity fundraising experience marrying fine wines, intimate dinners, secret destinations, glamour, a big party and a generous serving of pure fun and energy.
Chandon Supper Club brought together Australia's finest food and fabulous wines from Chandon and Green Point. Sydney's best restaurants, along with Stix (one of only two caterers invited) donated intimate dinners for 12 for hosts and their guests, who were then transferred by limousine to a glittering after-party at a secret destination.
Growth at Stix
After 7 fantastic years at Lillian Fowler Place, we are exploding at the seams and late June will see Stix move to a new location just around the corner.
Our new premises will include the latest equipment, larger kitchen space and offices as well as a boardroom that will enable us to entertain. Going forward we will also be able to hold Chef's Table dinners and cooking classes on site. Watch this space...
